Kosciusko County


Warsaw is the county seat of Kosciusko County and is known as the "Orthopedic Capital of the World." It is also home to some of the largest gravure printing presses in North America, the headquarters for the producer of CoCoWheats and other food products, as well as one of the largest manufacturers of project screens in the world, just to mention a few examples of the diverse manufacturing operations in the county.

Agri-business is also a mainstay of Kosciusko County's economy. The largest duck processor in the world in located in northern Kosciusko County near Milford. Egg processing is also a major value-added segment of agri-business in the county. The world's largest biodiesel facility, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, is located near Claypool in southern Kosciusko County.

The population of the county is estimated to be 75,000 (2008) with 13 incorporated communities within its borders. These communities are: Burket, Claypool, Etna Green, Leesburg, Mentone, Milford, North Webster, Pierceton, Sidney, Silver Lake, Syracuse, Warsaw and Winona Lake.
